Here in Portland, you may have the opportunity to encounter multiple, mixed-use properties. With a push for sustainable architecture that meets the needs of a growing population, more building projects are creatively incorporating multiple purposes into one space.

The Prairie Electric team is excited to participate in projects that create varied spaces in one location, accommodating residents of these building as well as members of the neighborhood community.

Grant Park Village

One such location is Grant Park Village, a mixed-use project on NE Broadway Ave at NE 32nd Ave. This three-story project includes apartments arranged into four separate buildings, with open wells to the parking area that provide energy-saving daylight. Architects have also created a common terrace for residents to enjoy. Below the apartments and on the most visible corner, a New Seasons Market will reside. Car and bicycle parking are included. Our Prairie Electric team was pleased to provide electrical services for this project, helping to bring much-needed housing to Portland’s NE neighborhood in a manner that benefits the environment and provides convenience to residents and customers alike.

Hawthorne Twenty-Six

We’re so proud to have worked on this project! This new building on Hawthorne Boulevard is just what the neighborhood had coming: stunning, efficient apartments, Coava Coffee cafe’ on the ground floor, community spaces on every level, and even a top floor deck for social events and star-gazing! Best of all, the architects have included parking below the building to avoid overcrowding the street. Our team was proud to wire this building for the convenience of all, and to do so while meeting Gold LEED Standards.

According to the US Census Bureau, the population of Portland was 609,456 in 2013, up from 603,026 in just one year. In order to accommodate this growth while maintaining a comfortable living environment for residents, multi-use spaces are emerging all over the city, featuring energy-efficient amenities that help maintain an environmentally-friendly standard of living. Our expert team at Prairie Electric is proud to be a part of this movement and to make an impact in our community!
