When it comes to performing electrical services for residential, commercial, or industrial applications, there are a certain number of tasks that must be completed before electricians are called to the site. Obviously, walls need to be framed before wiring, outlets, switches, and other materials can be installed.

However, there are times when the assembly of certain products or materials can take place off-site in a cleaner and less hectic environment. The Prairie Electric Prefabrication Shop can save time and money by building these products ahead of time to make installation that much faster.

Common Use Assemblies

A construction site can be very busy, cluttered, and even dangerous. When there are products, fixtures, or other equipment that can be built away from a hazardous worksite, it makes sense to do so. The Prairie Electric prefabrication shop is a clean, climate-controlled environment purpose-built for these assemblages.

For example, an oversized overhead light fixture can be built and readied for installation in our electrical prefabrication shop and then delivered to the site when installation is ready. Receptacles, switches, and supports that typically require assembly in the field can be prepped off-site for better efficiency and safety.

Prefab applications for residential uses can be as simple as making exhaust fans with a predetermined length of wire. This means one connection is already completed and the fan just needs to be installed in the ceiling with the connection already done.

Larger Electrical Panels

For apartment buildings, manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, and other large-scale jobs, electrical or control panels can be complex. They also need to be kept relatively clean to prevent shorts or other hazards. This means building the panels on-site can make for a risky proposition.

This control panel for a food processing plant was built in the Prairie Electric panel shop and shipped to the facility when it was time for installation. You can see by the detail involved you would not want to be building this on site. Prefabrication makes for easy, seamless installations.
